Gay Mens Spiritual Retreat

Amaria Villas is looking forward to having you as a part of our spiritual family. The triad that has been adopted by this magical land realized quickly that they were a part of something strong and magical. We can’t take much credit for what happens here. Puerto Vallarta is well known for being centered on ley lines and we believe we found an amazing intersection. The energy takes a little getting used to, and required a lot tempering on all of us. Healing energy had to do its work on us first.
Please bring what you need to fully experience this sacred energy. Bring your drums, paint brushes, and anything that helps you to co-create.
We will be providing an alcohol and meat free environment for this event. Day 5 will provide an opportunity to participate in an Ayahuasca ceremony that does require a little dietary restriction and refraining from drugs and alcohol leading up to the ceremony. The ceremony is lead by a shaman familiar with the impacts and will be done at your own risk if you choose to participate.
We are excited to be embarking on this adventure with you and are grateful for these traditions to be offered to our gay community in a setting where we can feel comfortable being our natural selves

Day 1 – Meet your Brothers Drum Circle

Day One

Arrive at Amaria Villas and get nestled in. Unpack, meet your brothers, have some coffee, tea, snacks, pastries, and socialize

  • Check in
  • Pick up Keys
  • Pick up Maps, Journals, Guidelines, and Program Schedule

We will end the day with a drum and fire circle to start off the energy work of the week. We will have extra drums but you are welcome to bring your own or other instruments for some sacred charging in addition to fire poi and toys at your own risks. Light background tempo music will be provided but you are encouraged to lead the music with your intuition.

Day 2 – Sun Salutations and Water

Day Two

We will start the day off with yoga performing a sun salutation to greet the sun rise.

Water Zumba will be offered by our beloved Fernando.

We will take off on a boat after lunch and will get to snorkel and see amazing rock formations as well as hike to some waterfalls or relax by the beach. We close the day by performing a sun salutation to the sunset.

We will then come back to the villas for dinner and relaxation.

Day 3 – Tantra and Sensuality

Day Three will be a very hands on experience. We will be reclaiming sensuality through the power of touch.

Introductions to Tantra by Alvaro followed by a Tantra workshop.

We will then pair up our men into groups of two and will teach sensual massage. Partners will do one hour before switching roles.

Day 4 – Deeper into Yoga

Day four will be based on chakra balancing using sound bowls and hermetic principles.

We will discuss yoga poses and come to understand how diffent poses awaken different chakras.

We will discuss the importance of order for charging and why we traditionally work through three sequences.

We will provide handbooks with different poses and you will be asked to create a routine based on selecting flows of poses that awaken the chakras in the order chosen.

Afterwards we will do sound exercises and meditations.

Day 5 – Shamanism and optional Iowaska Ceremony

On day five Jeshua Conejo will be teaching us about his shamanic journey. He is one of the first shamans to offer his rich history with the approval of his forefathers and guides to a all mens gay group. This is an honor.

We will have great spirit exercises and workshops throughout the day.

Those who chose to do the Ayahuasca ceremony will begin at 9pm and will be going through till 9am.

Ayahuasca, also known as yagé, is a native vine of the Amazon basin which is used to produce a powerful psychoactive substance. The resulting ayahuasca brew has been used as a traditional spiritual medicine by the indigenous tribes of the region for thousands of years.

Previously limited to its traditional use by native peoples, the mystical drug has been gaining popularity among tourists, who have flocked to various retreat centers and shamans in the jungle areas in recent years. Its purported benefits are plenty: it has been said to help with self-discovery, anger problems, addiction, and even medical problems such as cancer.

Day 6 – Art Mandalas and Cocao Ceremony

For those of you that missed out on the previous night ritual, join us to do mandalas and art while your brothers sleep in during the day.

We will have art supplies and will do a little team art.

When everyone is awake and crawling out of their vision quest we will have a great ending ceremony for the week to thank the great mother earth for providing us such a beautiful week.

Cacao ceremonies have been around for thousands of years, originating all the way back to Mayan and Aztec traditions in Central and South America, used for spiritual, medicinal and ceremonial purposes for inner awakening and creative guidance. Pure cacao is used as a heart opening medicine for people to safely experience awakening, revelation and inner healing.

Cacao is used in a sacred medicinal ritual, where intentions are set and once consumed, euphoric states are unlocked, negative emotions are released and we are able to connect to ourselves and the loving energy in our body.
